The Duncans News Letter The Tea Industry - A Statistical Overview The DD ITF Junior Tennis Championship '99 For
the third time in a row Duncans sponsored this event at the Dakshin Kolikata
Sansad . This year Double Diamond
picked up where Runglee Rungliot left off in branding the tournament. This
event was flagged off by a press conference, where media persons were gifted Double diamond Caddies. This was followed by a gala lunch
hosted by Mr. Kaushik Banerjee, Marketing Manager, and Mr. G. Lavania, Brand
Manager, Double Diamond . The
qualifying roounds started on the 20th of November`99 and continued
till the 22nd, after which the main rounds began . The Double Diamond
stall put up at the venue was a major crowd puller. Double Diamond glowsigns,
banners, runners, pillars etc. and the Double Diamond logo on T-shirts, caps and
badges made it an affair to remember. Players from all over including Korea,
Chinese Taipei, Bangaladesh, Hungray, USA, UK, Australia and of course India
participated in the tournament. The finals were on 27th of November `99. Dr. Banerjee and Mr. P. Nag graced the occasion. The boys single trophy was hosted by Vinod Sewa of West Bengal while the girls crown went to Sonal Phadke of Mumbai. The trophies were given away by Dr. Banerjee, after which there was a lavish tea. 16th Nandikar National Theatre Festival 1999 This
national theater festival started on the 16th of December 99 and
continued for a period of 7 days.
This year again Duncans co-
sponsored this major stage event . The Runglee Rungliot Tennis Tournament The Runglee Rungliot Tennis Tournament was held at the Ordnance Club for the second consecutive time. This tournament was successfully held from December 16th, 1999 to December 23, 1999 preceded by a press conference. Participants were from the age group of 10 to 18 all under the able guidance of Mr. Enrico Piperno. The Runglee Rungliot Golf Tournament The
first Golf tournament of this year was sponsored by Runglee Rungliot from
January 6 to January 9 at the Tollygunge club Calcutta, Mr. S.C.Bowry and
Mr.V.Verma were actively involved in the event . It concluded with a grand
cocktail party from Duncans. The most exciting part was a visit from the Amul
India Show who covered the event. Indeed a High Tee time at the At
the Chulsa Polo Club, this was what brewed excitement in the Dooars.
